Hello everybody. This is Jeff at Etrailer. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Power Watchdog Smart Digital Multimeter. Now this product is from Hughes Autoformers. It's an all-in-one smart digital multimeter. You can see it's very small and portable, but digitally accurate.
Weighs less than 4 1/2 ounces, and as you can see, it'll fit in your pocket. Has a nice bright digital display just like the smartphones. Now, this handy portable unit's gonna allow you to easily and accurately detect and measure your AC voltage, your DC voltage, continuity, frequency resistance hotlines, and also detects voltage with a non-contact voltage sensor. This smart multimeter is an invaluable tool for troubleshooting many electrical problems or electrical components. You can detect and fix for open grounds, reverse polarity, and detect higher low voltage.
All of those things can be damaging to your RV. Has a nice bright display, which is backlit with an on and off function. This allows you to easily read the display at night or day. To turn it on, you just go to the on button, hold it down for about two seconds, and it'll beep and come on. You can see it goes to the auto function.
Also gives you a bright LED flashlight in the back if you need it. This allows you to use it in the dark or use it as a portable flashlight. Now you do have to turn the unit on first and then go to the light button, hold it down two seconds and it'll beep again, and you can see the light is on. It is an LED light. If you turn it off, turn off the overhead lights, you can see it gives a pretty good light for you to work in.
Go ahead and turn it back on. We'll go ahead and turn our light off. Does have a non-contact voltage detector, so you'll stay safe and protected. See if that metal surface plug or wire is hot before you touch it. Comes with the heavy duty three foot long probes, the positive and negative probes. Has an auto shutoff feature. This unit will shut off after 15 minutes if nothing's tested or pressed to conserve the batteries, and it will even give you a low battery warning. It does offer the auto feature that'll make it easy for a non electrician to use, while still accurate and dependable for even the professionals. The unit will automatically determine what you're looking to test. For example, if you touch the two probe ends together, it'll show you your continuity. So this will make it very simple for the everyday Joe to use. Now, if you do have a surge protector that says you have low voltage, you can still need this to determine which leg is low. If you have reverse polarity, use this to determine which leg and wires are mixed. Or if you have a device that's not working, you could check continuity. Use the non-contact voltage detector it has to see if an outlet or wire is hot before you touch it or plug it in. But that is gonna do it for a look at this Power Watchdog Smart Digital Multimeter.
